Patience wasn’t a virtue he possessed a lot of. He had very little of it,
actually, especially in situations like this. Good things might’ve came to
those who waited, but that was yet something he had to learn. Wait he
did though, watched as the card was held up and shown off. A single
card, it was nothing special.

He didn’t blink, either, not after the warning that that was all the time it
could take for things to change. That one was one he almost expected
however, a classic trick he’d seen performed many a time. It was, admittedly
however, strange to see it done with just a single card and no deck in sight
or visibly put away in a pocket, again leaving no room for the methods he
was used to. This guy must’ve been extremely good at what he did to do
so with such ease, no doubt put hours of practice into even a simpler trick
such as the one he’d just shown.

Adrian was almost jealous of it. Almost, but his mouth remained shut as
he waited— patiently— for the next one. Time could be spent later on trying
to figure out what the other had up his sleeves.

Without his power, Taylor wasn’t be very impressive at all. He didn’t
have any card tricks outside of using his ability, was shaky with the sleight
of hand, and couldn’t pick a pocket without feeling guilty afterwards. If not
for his tricks and the money that it could bring in, he would have been on
the street a long while ago instead of moving from town to town, motel to
motel. Times like this, however, where he could remind himself what he
was blessed to have, helped him through those moments and to swallow
the life he was living.

The man was watching him so attentively, as if he would miss something
if he looked away, and he was glad that he really enjoyed the first trick that
he showed.  It was small, but it caught the other’s attention and he couldn’t
help but want to show off a bit more.  Impress the man further than he had
already.  With flick of the fingers, he crumpled the card into the palm of his
hand, morphing and shifting the form to take the design of an intricately
made paper rose made from the same playing card.  When he opened his
hand after ‘crumpling’ it, the rose sat in the middle of his palm, Taylor blowing
a breath of air along the top and shifting the card to move like petals from
a flower being brushed by a breeze.
