FOREVER STAINED AND TAINTED.

Indie Fandomless OC RP blog. Please read Basics and Guidelines before you interact. If you have any questions, come to me and I'll answer them to the best of my abilities.

There are forces in this world greater
than you can imagine. It's only a
matter of time and morals with which
someone chooses their side.

Would you go for good, use your powers
respectively?
Would you crave for more, taking what
you think you needed and living forever
with high consequences?
or
Would you live in ignorance, unaware
that your abilities aren't one of a kind,
and just waiting to be picked off?

Based on the books The Shining and Doctor
Sleep, this Group verse caters to those that
wish to have the Shine, that little something
special to kickstart their life.

Rules;;

+ Track the tag v;; doctor sleep. Not very imaginative, but it does it’s job.
+ Only to be one of every character. If you want to join and someone has the same character as you, talk it out with them and, if you can come up with something that works, shoot. Same faceclaims are fine, it happens all the time so no worries with that.
+ No OOC hate will be tolerated at all. There will be consequences if it is seen.
+ Everyone welcome.
+ No God-Modding.
+ Grammar does count, but is not overbearing. If English is not your native language, I understand, but some grasp is better than ignoring it all.
+ You can only have one Shine.  Some are more powerful than others, so they will be limited to the first few that ask, seeing as they were rare enough in the books.
+ The Shine is hereditary, so it is passed down through the family, whether the character knows about it or not. It’s not just obtained. It can skip generations, however, so you can have a Rube that is from a Shine family but doesn’t have it.
+ There has to be at least two True Knots. One’s not a group, two is at least company.

If you have an idea for a Shine, tell me and we can work something out. There are numerous kinds of Shining, I can guess, but I’m only listing the ones in the book. Unlimited power is not an option, however. And remember, the Shine can dim with age if it’s not worked enough.

Groups;;

Defenders;; Much like Abra Stone and Danny Torrance, the defenders know of their powers, can use them at their beck and call, or whenever the power wills itself to be used, and they wield it for good.  They protect those else that have the Shine and assist in any way they can.
Helpers;; Regular humans without the Shine, but they know of it and are friends with those that wield it.  As powerless as they can be compared to the manipulating powers of the Shine, they are just as important as the defenders.
Oblivious;; Usually children or adults that have no idea what the Shine is, the oblivious have their powers but do not know that it is a power. They believe it is just a crazed phenomenon or they are just skilled.
True Knot;; The Knot is a group of people with the Shine that have lived over a number of centuries by stealing something called Steam from children with the Shine. All humans - aka non shiners - are referred to as Rubes by them. The group itself is bad but the person does not have to be.  They can have their own reasons to do what they do instead of just being evil.

Shines;;

Shiners;; Wield the ability to read thoughts and can feel when something is going to happen. Are able to see flies on a person’s face, as well, when that person is close to dying. The more flies, the closer they are. Some are powerful enough to create their own spiritual entities, those that travel between shiners to help.
Sleepers;; With just a word, sleepers can put anyone to sleep, and once they are asleep, they can control them. Make them not feel pain, have them walk around, but it’s lazy and lumbering.
Reachers;; Can reach into a person’s mind to manipulate them, read memories, or seep into dreams. When they do, the victim feels as if hands are grasping inside their head.
Sonars;; The most that the Sonars can do is tell if there is someone with a Shine close by and track them down.
Feelers;; Able to predict things happening around them, such as a pitch in a baseball game or the weather.
Manipulators;; More like sleepers, they can control a person by just a single word, but unlike them, they don’t have to put them to sleep.  It’s almost an extreme form of suggestion.
True Shiners;; The most powerful of all. They wield powers from each other Shine to great lengths, but if they are unskilled, they can do more harm than good. They hold the most Steam out of every other Shine there is.
